The "March Public Holiday" takes place each year on Adelaide Cup Day.

In South Australia all Public Holidays are state-wide. This differs from many other states in Australia that can have a number of local regional holidays that are set by the relevant local councils.

Proclamation Day is called Boxing Day in the other states within Australia.
